Cholesterol meds & surgery date

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Just a tiny update quickly, while I juggle kids and everything else here. Lapband is post-poned until insurance comes back with an approval. The clinic was SLOW in getting all my paper work to the ins. co. You should see my file - it’s gigantic - so the poor coordinator gal had A LOT to go through to get what she needed out of there. Pray for me to get a reply from my insurance this week. They don’t generally say “no”. In fact, it is a covered procedure, so one way or another it will happen. I just want it NOW and not later. I will either get an approval in which I will have the procedure within 2-3 weeks (I am hoping for May 31st). OR I will get a “we need more documentation of this or that” and then I will have to get that to them and wait for an approval. I meet the guidelines so there is really no reason to deny me as long as they get all the documentation they need. I really have my heart set on this.

I have been taking cholesterol meds for almost a month now and, in addition to make me not sleep well at night, they make me hurt like hell. I mean, it’s just really setting in now and I hurt so bad. My arms, from my shoulders to my fingers, aching all the time. All my joints and muscles are aching. I can’t take this medication anymore. I don’t honestly believe in cholesterol drugs anyway however, it’s one of those things that I am supposed to try *before* surgery as required by my ins. I have, in the past, tried one other cholesterol drug and it did the same thing. So that’s an acceptable reason to stop taking it.

My opinion is this. Take vitamin C and chelation therapy and follow your IAAP plan and you will never get heart disease. I believe that 110%. So, off the cholesterol meds I am going. Today.

Thanks for the notes and the comments, I really appreciate the support. I have some really great online friends.

Blessings,
Tarra

1 Million For PCOS

Friday, May 11th, 2007

It is estimated the up to 15% of women worldwide have PCOS and less than half know they have it!

Often unrecognized PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) can cause many physical and emotional manifestations. While many of these symptoms may not be evident to a friend or family member, women go through years of silent suffering with a myriad of daily battles.

For years thousands of women have incorporated unusual daily rituals and affirmations to manage symptoms that seemed to be unrelated. Some of these rituals might include plucking, shaving, treatments to reduce hair loss, acne creams, diets to fight unexplained weight gain, skin bleaches, and repeated trips to doctors who tell them their irregular menstrual cycles and problems are all in their heads.

PCOS has long caused many to suffer in silence with little understanding, support, resources and compassion.
Now for just $1.00 you can share your thoughts, photos, ads, logos and mantras to help show the world one million reasons we should support PCOS Awareness.

Proceeds from one million for PCOS will assist with maintenance and upgrades to the Project PCOS Website, a national PSA, educational materials, educational meetings and patient support.

Block placement is on a first come, first served basis!

To help be part of the solution please visit our one million campaign:

Thanks for your support,

Relay For Life In Honor Of My Sister

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

As you all probably know, we lost my sister, Candice, to cancer in October, and my mom, Dell, is a survivor. Please read this email and donate if you can. It will be really wonderful if we can help Tyler reach his goal. This is Candice’s son and he is doing the Relay For Life in memory of his mom. Please pass this email on to anyone else who may donate.

Thanks so much!!!

Subject: Help us fight cancer by supporting Relay For Life!
Hello!

Can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? Those are staggering statistics, but there is hope. Each of us can do something to save lives and help those already fighting this disease. That’s why I’ve decided to take action against cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® event right here in Bismarck, ND.

Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings our community together to help support the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The Society works hard every day to prevent cancer and save lives by supporting groundbreaking research, affecting public policies that protect us from cancer, and educating people on how to prevent or detect cancer early. The Society helps people with cancer right here in our own community. And our efforts at Relay For Life can help the American Cancer Society to keep working toward a cancer-free future.

I want to invite you to show your support in the ongoing fight against cancer by joining us for this year’s event. Please click on the link below for more information, including details on the inspirational Survivors’ Lap and the moving Luminaria Ceremony. We hope to see you there! If you can’t join us, will you please visit the site and make a donation to support our efforts? Either way, you will make a real difference in the lives of people facing cancer – and in the lives of the people who love them. Thank you!
